Joseph and Bianca Freck met in Mortuary School and later moved back to the Oregon, Ohio, area to work in funeral service. After several years of being employed by area funeral homes, an opportunity arose to purchase a church property in Oregon that was ideal for Freck Funeral Chapel. Freck Funeral Chapel now flourishes in a wonderful community with many future opportunities to grow. 


Joe and Bianca had four children; Joseph, Sarah, Abigail, and Ethan. Ethan passed away in 2012. The Frecks are members of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, GBU, USAA, Exchange Club, Oregon Economic Development Foundation, BBB, Ohio Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Knights of Columbus-River East Mother Teresa Council #14344. 


Joseph is a native of North Royalton, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland) and a 1994 graduate of North Royalton High. He continued his education at the University of Toledo and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1998.


Bianca is a native of Oregon, Ohio, and a 1995 graduate of Clay High School who also attended the University of Toledo and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1998. She served in the 555th Ohio Air National Guard Band from 1995-2001, where she played the French Horn. In 2018 she received her Master of Social Work from the University of Toledo.

Bryce joined Freck Funeral Chapel in June of 2024 as a licensed funeral director and apprentice embalmer. He is a lifelong resident of Perrysburg, Ohio and graduated from Perrysburg High School in 2013. Bryce would go on to receive a Bachelor in Education from Bowling Green State University in 2018 and later served as a 7th and 8th-grade social studies, English, and Career Technology teacher for Toledo Public Schools at Glenwood Elementary. He then pursued a career in the funeral industry in October 2020. While serving his funeral director apprenticeship, he attended Wayne State University to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science, completing the program in August of 2023.


He lives with his fiancée, Samantha, and their three dogs in his childhood home. When not at the funeral home, Bryce entertains private parties, corporate events, and weddings as a professional DJ. He also enjoys cooking, spending time with friends and family, and listening to podcasts. Bryce is honored and takes great pride in being able to serve those in the community with dignity, sincerity, and empathy.

Kyle Konold is a funeral director and embalmer apprentice. Over the past two years, he has learned the basics of funeral directing, embalming, and grief support to serve the community better. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Bowling Green State University with an intervention specialist certification. Kyle taught special education courses and history in the Cleveland, Lorain, and Toledo areas for several years. His passion was World History and American History, which he enjoyed sharing with his students. Kyle later decided to explore mortuary science as a career and found himself drawn to the caring nature of the funeral director, which launched him on his journey as a funeral director and embalmer apprentice. Kyle and his high school sweetheart, April, reside in Bowling Green with their pet rats. Kyle is also a Dungeons and Dragons dungeon master where he creates stories with quests played by members throughout the Dungeons and Dragons community. When not at the funeral home, he enjoys spending time with April, walking the local metro parks, camping, and watching documentaries.

Cindy Villarreal is the office manager for Freck Funeral Chapel and lives in Bono. She is a graduate of Clay High School and a parishioner at St. Jerome Catholic Church. She previously was the director of Helping Hands of St. Louis Outreach Center and drove a school bus for Oregon City Schools. When not at the funeral home helping families, Cindy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren.

Dave has been married to his high school sweetheart for over 51 years. He has two children and one grandson. Dave came to Freck’s over 13 years ago after retiring from 30 years of public service. He enjoys being part of Freck’s and having the opportunity to serve the Oregon community.

Dan was born in Monroe, MI. He is the oldest of 3 children. Dan's first job was as an orderly at Memorial Hospital at age 15. At 18, he joined the Navy and spent a year with the Marines in Vietnam as an OR Tech. Discharged from service and moved to Toledo, he became the first OR tech at Maumee Valley Hospital, where he met Patty, his wife, who worked as an OR nurse. They have spent an incredible 53 years of marriage together. Dan spent 40-plus years in sales. After retiring and needing something to do, he stopped at Freck's and asked if they needed any help; he worked the next night, has been here for 10-plus years, and enjoys working with the other employees. Dan says he is glad to have a great relationship with the Freck's.

Jackie Schmidt is a proud graduate of Clay High School. During high school, she worked as a cashier at Safeway-Foodtown. Jackie married her special guy in May of 1962, and he has since passed. She was employed with the Frisch's Big Boy office on Erie Street before becoming a proud mother of a bouncing baby boy, which she says was her best job ever. She later worked for the City of Toledo for 29 ½ years.


Retirement was not in the cards for Jackie as she helped her husband with his business on Main Street S&K Office Supplies until his passing. Still needing something to fill her time, Jackie began working at Freck Funeral Chapel in 2014. Finding fulfillment and glad to be a part of the Freck Funeral Chapel team, she enjoys helping and serving others during their most difficult times.

Connie Sanderson married the love of her life, Bruce Sanderson, and they raised their family together. She has four daughters, four sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren. Connie is a graduate of Waite High School and lives in Oregon. She was a secretary for Oregon City Schools for over 30 years, most of those years at Eisenhower. She attends Hope Community Church. After retirement, Connie began working with Freck Funeral Chapel and enjoys helping the community.

Maryjo Freimark came to work at Freck’s in 2021. She lives and works in the area at Jerusalem Elementary. She is a graduate of Clay High School and a life member of St. Ignatius Church. She is married to Jim, and they have two children, Jacob, who left us too early at the age of 21, and Matthew, who moved back to the area with his family from California. Matthew and Amber live in Ottawa Lake with our two grandchildren. When not working, Maryjo loves sewing, camping, spending time with family, and friends and being outside.

Christie Welsh lives in Curtice with her husband, Larry. They have been married for over fifty years. Christie and her husband enjoy entertaining and having the family over. She graduated from Waite High School and worked at St. Charles Hospital for 31 years. Christie then worked at St. Jerome Catholic Church for 6 ½ years. She is a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and enjoys her time working with Freck Funeral Chapel.
