Sherri Lynn Christensen, age 52, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023. She was born on July 24, 1970. Sherri graduated from Lyons Township High School in La Grange, Illinois then attended the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, studying early childhood development.
Sherri worked as preschool teacher for Kinder Care Learning Center in Illinois as assistant lead teacher and director from 1991-2009. After moving back to Ohio she worked at Thrive Childcare in Oregon, Ohio as assistant preschool teacher, and lead teacher from 2010-2022 for two and three year olds. She recently became an assistant teacher at Childcare Adventures Early Learning Center in Toledo, Ohio.
Sherri loved spending time with family and friends, especially her mom and cousins. She was also passionate about all the children she taught over the years.
Sherri loved animals, going to movies, reading, and had a strong faith in God do to her grandparents.
Sherri is survived by her aunts, Laura (Shane) Dailey (Godmother), and Teri Ann (Larry) Heilman; uncles, Ernnie (Marcia) Naugle, Rex (Linda) Naugle; cousins, Tory (Aaron) Thompson, Blake (Jessica) Heilman, Wendy (Joe) Szczerbiak, Carrie (Naugle) Baker, Nicole Naugle, and many others. She is also survived by her stepfather, Terry (Imelda) Bieniek; stepsister, Jenny; and extended family, Nancy Bieniek-Warner, Gail Brzezicki, and Linda Bieniek. She was preceded in death by her mother, Darla Bieniek; grandparents, Margaret and Earl Henning, Robert Petrie, George Sr. and Dorothy Naugle; step grandparents, Gene and Jenny Bieniek and her aunt, Judy Petrie.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2-7:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Child Care Adventures or the charity of the donor's choice. A special thanks to all the family, friends, and coworkers who supported and loved her through her life’s journey. She was blessed to have you all in her life.
