RICHARD W. “WILLIE” LAUFFER
Richard W. Lauffer, 61, of Oregon, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at UTMC after his courageous battle with various illnesses after an accident in 2000. He was born January 20, 1952 in Adrian, MI to Paul D. and Ruth L. (Deming) Lauffer and was married on July 17, 1976 to Juanita Ramos. For over 30 years, Willie worked as a salesman for Capital Tire retiring in August of 2000. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Parish and in his spare time enjoyed listening to 40’s music including Benny Goodman and Glen Miller, watching old TV classics like the Three Stooges and hanging out with friends at Don’s Donuts.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; children, Lisa Flynn and Richard-Jon (Reina) Lauffer; grandchildren, Marcus and Mikelle Flynn; and brothers, Carson (Chris) Lauffer, Suzanne (Jack) Siler, Sherry (Michael) Price, and DeWitt (Karen) Lauffer. Willie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Lauffer.
Family and friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon, where the Scripture Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home on Thursday followed by 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Ignatius Catholic Church, St. Paul’s Community Center and the American Eagle Foundation.
