Our father, Jack Hoffman, 85, of Oregon, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 5, 1930 in Toledo, OH to John and Theresa Hoffman. Jack attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Waite High School, then served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. He worked at L.O.F. for 40 years until he retired. Jack was a member of the Arthur Daly American Legion Post, Rossford Eagles, Waite Inc. and Waite Has-beens Golf League. He was known for his woodworking and crafting skills. He was a life time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jack lived for his family and took great pride in rooting for his grandchildren at all their sporting events.
Jack is survived by his loving and devoted, wife of 60 years, Janice; children, Connie (Darrell Clark) Berezowski, Amy (Dan) Lucas, Kim (Casey) Kervin, Cathy Hoffman, Kelly (Kirk) Reid, Heidi Hoffman and Michael (Stephanie) Hoffman; grandchildren, Nikki (Matt), Johnny (Brooke), Katie (Derrick), Katherine, Jennifer, Nick (Tricia), Travis, Brooke, Bridget, Isabella, Taylor, Madison, Jake, Katie, Jarrod, Zack, Kasey, Jack and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Matteo, Brodie, Maverick, Reef and Julian; sister, Rose Marie (Gerald) Dreier; sons-in-law, Andy Troiani, Scott Hornyak; special best friend and golf buddy, Pete Carlo. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Bart and Wanda Stricker; sisters, Mary Catherine, Virginia (John) Kunich, Rita (Clell) Hanely, Eunice (Al) Buschmann and son-in-law, Dave Berezowski.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 3-8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd in Oregon, where family will begin to greet guests after 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Ignatius Phase 2 Building Fund. A special thanks to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio especially, Maggie, Sarah, and Kim.
