Edward Joseph Hardin Jr., 55, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at the University of Toledo Medical College of Ohio. He was born on December 13, 1968 in Toledo, Ohio to Linda Gedert and Edward Hardin Sr. Over the years, he's had nicknames such as Fast Eddie, Machine Gun Eddie, Unc, Uncle Fester, Special Ediot, and ultimately Special Ed. He was a fun, loving man, with a magnetic personality and wonderful sense of humor. He kept you on your toes, wondering what he would do next. Eddie loved spending time with family and friends, riding his motorcycle and camping. He also enjoyed tinkering with his motorcycles, cars, and just about anything he could get his hands on. Ed was a “Jack of all trades”, working as a mechanic, roofer, and most recently repairing trailers. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jamie (Dukeman) Hardin; children, Amy (Troy) Garcia, James (Arianna) Hardin, and Cierra (Curtis) Hardin; grandchildren, Donivin, Nathan, Dominic, Roman, Amira, Elliot, Amarianna, Troy Jr, and Koda; his mother, Linda Heidtman; siblings, Lisa Gedert, Joe (Lisa) Carlo, Wendy Dukeman, Angel (Dean) Yoast and Brenda Dukeman; nieces and nephews, Martin, John, Eddie, Bre, Zack, Steven, Dallis, Raquel, Carlos, and Marie and several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Hardin; father, Richard Heidtman, biological father, Edward Hardin Sr.; and brother, Robert Hardin.
A celebration of life will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 3-5:00 p.m. where a time of sharing will be held at 5:00 p.m.
