William "Bill" Horvath

William “Bill” Horvath

William R. Horvath, 84, of Toledo, OH passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Mercy Health-St. Charles Hospital.  He was born on March 12, 1934 in Toledo to James and Rose Horvath.  William was a graduate of Macomber High School and served in the U.S. Air Force.  He worked as a machine operator for Spicer Manufacturing/DANA and retired from Globe Industries where he worked as a fork lift operator.

William was a member of the Arthur Daly American Legion Post #334.  He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye fan.  In his spare time, William enjoyed golfing, having a cold one and visiting with his family.  He will be dearly missed.

William is survived by his sons, Anthony (Deborah) Horvath and Martin (Dawn) Horvath; step-son, Bernard (Laura) Bathel; grandchildren, Ryan, Benjamin (Corey), Lauren, Layne, Kurtis and Kent; great-grandchildren, Korben and Blake; daughter-in-law, Debra Horvath and long-time companion, Marie Wenzlick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, James Wesley; infant daughter, Elizabeth; step-son, Robert Bathel and siblings, Joseph Horvath, Sr. Mary Claveria, Veronica Washington, Irene Sense, Elizabeth Horvath, Emery Horvath.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m.  Private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Donor’s choice.
