Wendy Shanks

Wendy Shanks, age 25, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the U. of M. -Mott Children’s Hospital.  She was born in Korea on August 10, 1988.  Wendy was a 2010 graduate of Clay High School and worked at River Crossing Company.  She loved to go shopping and out to eat.  Wendy loved people and was known for making bracelets out of beads and rubber bands which she gave out to family and friends.  She had nine cats and loved them all, especially Mandy.  Wendy once volunteered for Paws and Whiskers cat shelter.

Wendy is survived by her loving parents; mother, Nancy (David) Bishop; father, Michael (Kim) Shanks; grandparents, Bud and Joanne Shanks; siblings, Mickey (Stephanie) Shanks, Andy Shanks and Lesley Shanks; nephew, Brenden; nieces, Makenna and Rory Shanks and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jeanne and John (Windy)  Wheeler and sister, Robin.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. where services will be held at 7 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

We would like to thank the people at Josina Lott, where Wendy lived the past two months.
