Wayne Leroy Goucher Jr.

Wayne Leroy Goucher, 74, of Toledo, OH passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 11, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born in Toledo, OH to Wayne and Mildred Ruth (Hoovermale) Goucher on June 24, 1947. Wayne went to Waite High School and was drafted into the United States Army in August 1966. Wayne worked at Libbey Owens Ford in his younger years and later retired from Great Lakes Window.

On July 30, 1966, at the tender age of 19, Wayne married the love of his life, Charlotte Goucher (Hagemann). They created a loving life together and in turn a large family including 9 children, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Wayne and Charlotte celebrated 55 years of marriage together with family this past July.

Wayne took great pride in two things; his family and his vegetable garden. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and you rarely saw him without his Steelers ballcap. He loved fishing and when he was younger, hunting. Many men tell “fish” stories, but he was the greatest storyteller of all. Everyone who knew him heard his captivating tales of great catches and hunts.

Wayne leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Charlotte; his children, Richard, Mark, Dawn (Michael) Murphy, Ryan, Keith, Cameron (Ruth), Charlotte Laney (Andrew Fox), and Nicholas (Maria); his honorary daughters Wanda Heuser, Kimberly Goucher, and Frances Goucher; and many loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne R. Goucher; his brother, Dennis; his sister Kathy; and his parents.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd Oregon, OH 43616 on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 11 until 3 p.m. A funeral service will begin in the chapel at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
