Walter Joseph Harmer

Walter Joseph Harmer, 88, of Oregon, OH, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022. He was born in Defiance, OH to Edwin and Estella (Roberts) Harmer on April 16, 1933. He married the love of his life, Emma, and together they raised their family. Walter worked for 33 years and 8 months for LOF as a glassworker, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed fishing but most of all he cherished the time spent with his family.

Walter leaves behind his children, Patricia (Jerry), Susan (Terry), Bryan (Janet), and Kimberly (Ted); his 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, his parents, his siblings, his daughters, Janice and Dawn, and his grandson, David.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Walter will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery with his wife. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
