Virginia Mae Edwards

Virginia Mae “Ginger” Edwards, age 89, of Oregon, OH, passed away at Mercy St. Charles Hospital with her family by her side. She was born to Leonard and Ella Ida (Neidermyer) Hartford in Toledo, OH on February 14, 1935. Ginger was a 1953 graduate of Clay High School and later married William Edwards. Ginger worked for many years as a kitchen aide at Little Sisters of the Poor Sacred Heart Home of the Aged, retiring in 2000. She was an avid reader and loved working in her garden.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pamela Gaich, and Daniel Edwards; her grandchildren, Samantha Gaich, and Zachary Gaich; her great-grandchild, Reinick Ford; her siblings, Hazel Wolf, and Carol Ellen (Burt) Boros. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edwards; her parents Leonard and Ella Hartford; her siblings, Helen Friesel, Ruth Hiller, Lawrence Hartford, Thelma (Charles) Hall, and Juanita (Galen) Groves.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Ginger will be laid to rest at North Oregon Cemetery, Oregon, OH.
