Viola E. Laub

Viola E. Laub, 88, of Millbury, OH, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 18, 2021. She was born on the family farm in New England, ND to Nicholas and Mary Focht on April 20, 1933 and she grew up in Gladstone, ND. Viola graduated from Gladstone High School and went on to marry the love of her life, Robert, and together they raised their family. She was always a hard-worker, holding three jobs at one-time as well as the choir director at church. She loved music and played the saxophone in Grandpa’s Band and sang in church. When she moved to Toledo, OH, she also sang with the Swiss Singers. Viola loved travelling, her Camaro sports car, and her dog, Candy, but most of all, she cherished the love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Viola leaves behind her children, Jerome (Kim) Laub, Robert Laub, and Jocelyn (Charles) Harpel; her grandchildren, Samantha (Kenny), Nick (Mackenzie), and Amanda (Rudolph); and her great-grandchildren, Wyatt “Bear,” and Kohl “Krew.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her daughter-in-law, Cathy; and her parents.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with the memorial service held at 10:00 a.m. Viola will be laid to rest with her husband at Gladstone Cemetery in New England, ND.
