Vincent Joseph Donofrio, Jr.

Vincent Joseph Donofrio, Jr., age 92, of Oregon, OH, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 surrounded by his family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg Campus. He was born in Toledo, OH to Vincent Sr. and Rose (Silvestre) Donofrio on March 26, 1931. Vincent was a 1949 graduate of Macomber High School and later served in the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. He married the love of his life, Jean, and together they raised their family. He was employed with LOF as a glass cutter and later as a gallery guard at the Toledo Museum of Art. Vincent was a member of the Christ Dunberger American Legion Post 537, enjoyed reading and square dancing, and was a scout master for Troop 159 for many years. Vincent was very active in community service during his life.

Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Jean; his children, Gina (Dinaz), Suzanne (George), Rocco (Kim), and Michael (Margaret); his grandchildren, Steve, Dana (Beau), Eric (Sarah), Rocco (Jennifer), Angela (John), Dave (Jessica), Vince (Jessie), and Jay (Tori); 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Joseph, Rocco, Madelyn, Florence, Mary, Anthony, and John.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, OH, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior in the church narthex. Vincent will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Gardens, Waterville, OH, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with military funeral honors. Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
