Valente Estrada

Valente Estrada, 93, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was born on May 21, 1931 in Asherton, Texas to Juan and Petra (Diaz) Estrada. Valente worked for Champion Spark Plug for over 20 years before retiring. He loved spending time with his family having cookouts and get togethers. Valente had a passion for playing the saxophone and singing. He and his brothers formed the Estrada Brothers Orchestra playing in the Toledo, Michigan and surrounding areas for many years. Over the years the band grew, as sons and family members joined. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Valente is survived by his children, David (Betty) Estrada, Albert Estrada, Linda (Juan) Romero, Dalia (Aureliano) Villarreal, Gilbert Estrada, and Robert Estrada; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 20 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eloisa; and siblings, Frank, Lucio, Alfredo, Antonio, Octavio, and Reynalda.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 2-8:00 p.m. where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Additional visitation will take place on Friday at the funeral home from 9-10:00 a.m. before continuing on with the funeral Mass which will be held at Epiphany of the Lord Parish-St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
