Thomas Clayton Schlicher

Thomas C. Schlicher, 82, of Northwood, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at MercyHealth St. Charles Hospital.  He was born on February 17, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Norceille Schlicher.  Tom was a 1957 graduate of Waite High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves.  He retired from Ford Motor Stamping Plant in Maumee, Ohio, where he worked as a machine repairman.  Tom served as the past president of the Textile Workers Union.  He was a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he was a scout master for many years with Boy Scout Troop #57.  He is a current member of St. Jerome Catholic Church.  In his spare time, Tom enjoyed golfing, bowling, and hunting.  He was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed his occasional Miller lite.  He will be dearly missed.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ginny; children, Jeanne Frigmanski, Mark Schlicher, and Beth (Steve) Polega; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, and Madisyn Schlicher and Sumer Woodruff; his sister, Mary Jo (Bob) Klem, and daughter-in-law, Linda Schlicher.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bert” and Norceille; son, Michael Thomas, and brother, David Schlicher.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 11-3:00 p.m. where services will be held at 3:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
