Thomas James (Monk) Myers

Thomas James “Monk” Myers age 78 of Northwood passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Thomas was born to Glenn and Virginia (Fazekas) Myers Sr. on October 27, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1964 graduate of Waite High School and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a proud vet. Tom returned to Toledo and married the love of his life Catherine Erard. He was a glassworker at L.O.F. for 32 years until his retirement in 2000. Tom loved sports, he was his children's and grandchildren’s #1 fan. Tom enjoyed watching the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Red Wings, playing hockey, and being a Fantasy Football Champion.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Cathy; children Scott Myers, Angie (Dwight) Young, and Kelly (Matt) Sigurdson; grandchildren Cailee, Brianna, Kelsee, Paige, Jessee, Chance, Catlin, and Savanna; great-grandchildren Dane, Max, Rylee, Rosie, and Cirilo; siblings Frank Myers, Fred (Linda) Myers, Bob Myers, Jennifer Hoersten, Steve Myers and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Joyce Myers, Martha Myers, and Glenn Myers Jr.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 2 until 4 p.m. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
