Thomas Richard Kasch

Thomas R. Kasch Sr., age 80, of Toledo, passed away at Mercy St. Charles Hospital on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Tom served our country in the Marine Corps where he was a member of the Chosin Few, a distinguished group of men who battled in a decisive battle of the Korean War. He was a member of the Local 50 Plumbers and Pipe fitters. Tom enjoyed time with his family and days at Bay Point and on Lake Erie fishing. He was a life long member of the Lou Diamond Detachment and Northwood VFW #2984 where he was past commander.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne; children, Cindy(Mark) Spetz, Ellen (Albert) Larson, James Fogel Jr., Thom Kasch Jr., and Gretchen (Ross) Olinger; grandchildren, Sherry (Ric) Heyman, Donald (Michelle) Huss, Douglas (Jodie) Huss, Mark (Pon) Spetz Jr, Bryan (Erin) Spetz, James (Sarah) Fogel III, Raymond Olinger, and Katie Olinger; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabelle.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 2-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m.
