Thomas E. Roberts, 72, of Oregon, passed away at Bay Park Hospital on Thursday, November 22, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born July 14, 1940 in Toledo to William M. and Rosemary E. (Mock) Roberts and was a 1958 graduate of Waite High School. Tom was a coach for Oregon Recreation Department for 18 years, coaching football, baseball and basketball. He owned and operated Roberts Party Store in Oregon for 10 years. From 1982 until his retirement in 2002, he worked for Clay High School as an In-School Suspension Monitor. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching sports, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathy H. (Ryan) Roberts whom he married June 9, 1962; children, Cindy (Rod) Achter, Tom (Kim) Roberts, Tim (Carol) Roberts and Tracy Roberts; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Roberts.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2-9 P.M. on Monday, November 26, 2012, at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, Ohio where a memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
