Thomas E. Daunhauer, Jr., 64, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born in Toledo on March 18, 1949, to Thomas and Elaine (St. John). Tom was a 1967 graduate of Clay High School. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion South Toledo Post 581, where he served as Treasurer. Tom worked as an installer for many years with several security alarm companies in the Toledo area. His technical expertise and attention to detail led to him becoming an independent consultant in the field in his later years.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Patrick. He is survived by his sons, Nick (Julie), William and Gabriel; grandchildren; Jack, James and Brian; sister, Christine (Al) Johnson; brother, Michael Daunhauer, sister-in-law Judy Daunhauer and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. where the service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Autism Services at 3521 Briarfield Blvd, Maumee, OH 43537 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at Hospice, Toledo for their compassion and care.
