Terry L. Howell

March 21, 1946 — January 10, 2018

Terry L. Howell, 71, of Curtice, Ohio died on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Akron surrounded by his family.  He was born on March 21, 1946 in Bellaire, Ohio to Paul Jr. and Nellie (Fierbaugh) Howell.  Terry worked as a nuclear expediter for First Energy before starting a career as a service manager for dealerships in Toledo and Oregon.  He was a man of God and a longtime member of Echo Meadows Church of Christ, where he was known as “The Hugger”; one of those guys who just never met a stranger. Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be dearly missed.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Patricia Howell; daughter, Bernadette (Christopher) Chiancone of McKinney, Texas, and their children, Rachel, Jacob, Victoria and Nicholas; daughter, Kristin (Wade) Davis of Leesville, South Carolina, and their children, Anthony and Cody Urquhart; daughter, Tiffany (David),(nee Schenk) Krock, of Clinton, Ohio, and their children, Mitchell and Ellie; son, Jon (Gina) Schenk of Morris Plains, New Jersey,  and great-grandson, Rory.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.  Terry was a HUGE Steelers fan so please feel free to wear your favorite team jersey or colors if you are able to visit.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Echo Meadows Church of Christ, Alzheimer’s Association or the National Museum of Marine Corps.
