Terry H. Gillespie, 77, of Oregon, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Bay Park Community Hospital in Oregon. He was born in Toledo on April 5, 1939 to Carl and Beulah (Dearsman) Gillespie and was a 1957 graduate of Clay High School. Terry worked in the Tool & Die Industry for Bunting Brass and Bronze and also with Toledo Shipyard Co. (Merce Industries). In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and baking. Terry loved spending time with his family and especially supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Durivage) Gillespie; daughters, Jennifer (James) McLaughlin and Cassandra (Larry) Reichow; grandchildren, Katlin and Brittany Reichow and Michael Gillespie-McLaughlin; sisters, Janet (Len) Connolly and Jill (Tom) Konst; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Gretchen Durivage; mother-in-law, Ruth (Don) Mallett; other family members and all the zany squirrels in his yard. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Beulah Gillespie and fathers-in-law, Howard Durivage and Harold Noren.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mainstreet Church, 5465 Moline-Martin Rd in Walbridge with the family to receive guests one hour prior. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Mainstreet Church. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Bay Park Community Hospital for their genuine care and concern shown to Terry and his family.
