Sylvia K. Konopka, 92, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 24, 1920 to Stephen and Mary Kulakoski. Sylvia retired from General Mills after 35 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and playing cards, especially, Euchre and Pinochle. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler. She will be dearly missed.
Sylvia is survived by her children: Joyce (Paul) Beach and Lawrence (Linda) Konopka; grandchildren: Gloria (Kael) Beach-Hanson, Josef (Tracy) Settelmeyer and Gretchen (Jeremy) Sigler; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thaddeus and brothers, Chester and Alvin.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Catholic Church or Gentiva Hospice.
