Sylvester Homer Kreais Jr

Sylvester "Sy" Kreais Jr., age 79, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Mercy Health St Charles Hospital.  He was born on June 28, 1945 in Fostoria, Ohio to Sylvester and Gertrude Kreais.  Sy worked as a truck driver for over 40 years.  He was known for his handy work, especially yardwork, gardening and working on cars.  In his younger years, Sy built race cars and watched them perform at the Toledo Speedway.  He loved farming with his family and watching NASCAR in his spare time.

Sy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret Kreais; grandson, Christopher Jr. who was like a son; daughter, Penny Domer; grandchildren, Natalie, Eric, and Dale; his siblings, Michael (Judy) Kreais, and Cindy Kreais; and special friends, Louis and Candi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Gertrude; his son, Christopher Sr.; and his siblings, Larry, Ruth and Rosie.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 3-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s choice.
