Susan came to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for employment as a clerk for the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) at the age of 19. She also worked as a bookkeeper for various companies and achieved the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for William C. Smith & Companies, Inc. and transitioned to be the accountant of their non-profit organization "The ARC of Washington, D.C." She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Waldorf, Maryland and the Republican Women's Committee. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Salviejo, Jr., her brothers, Charles and William Briggs and her sister, Linda Meeker. She is survived by her son George F. Powell Jr., her daughter Cecelia Sage, step children Julie and Michael Salviejo, Kathleen Jauschnegg, William Muscovich, sister Debbie Rowland, grandchildren, Brendan, Savannah, Sophia Sage, Amber Powell, Ashley Seaver, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 6,2012 at 11 a.m. at the Stony Ridge United Methodist Church, 5542 Fremont Pike Stony Ridge, OH. 43463. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, Ohio.
