Susan F. Helmke, 74, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born in Toledo on August 7, 1942 to Bertrum and Helen (Pritchett) Brown.
Susan was a loving wife to Paul Helmke who preceded her in death. She was an avid NASCAR, Duke basketball and Pittsburg Steelers football fan. Susan loved jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Kim) Helmke, Dan (Charletta) Helmke, Lori (Steve) Perry, Scott (Betsy) Helmke, Paula (Ron) Staudinger and Jeff (Cheryl) Helmke; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Pitzen and Harriet (Terry) Cooper along with several dear nieces and nephews. Susan was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Bertrum “Bud” Brown II, Dolly Ann Powell and Judy Moore.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11a.m. in the funeral home with burial will follow at Locust Point Cemetery in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
