Susan Jean Croley

Susan “Susie” Jean Croley, 69, of Northwood, who was loved by her family and friends, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She was born November 30, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio to John B. and Ruth (Harter) Meilink.

Susan had been employed for 9 years at Phillips Carbon Black Plant, 6 years at Bostwick Braun and for 23 years at Jones-Hamilton before becoming disabled. She was the first secretary for the East Side Raiders, vice-president for Holy Rosary Booster Club and secretary of Holy Rosary’s Mother’s Guild. She had been a member of Northwood’s Zoning Committee and Planning Committee and was also a member of TMACOG’s Freight Committee. Susan had served on the board of the Toledo Transportation Club and was also a member of the Toledo Trucking Association.

With a most understanding, kind and loving heart, she would not hesitate to help others, friend or family. She always did whatever she could to help anyone with anything and regularly donated to several charities. Susie will be missed by all and will forever be on our minds and in our heart.

Left to cherish Susan’s memory are Vernon, her husband of 50 years; her son Vernon Craig Croley (Anji Grant)(Angie Williams); step-sons Michael Perez (Tori) and Vernon Perez; grandson Joshua David Croley; step-grandchildren Kylie and Regan Grant, and Brandon and Maiya Perez; sisters Jackie (Joe) Staab, Darlene Steedman and Linda (Kevin) Valine; brothers Ron and John Meilink; many nieces and nephews and beloved four legged companions Hope and Faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ruth Meilink; sister Carole Ann (Gene) Walters; and brother in-law Kenneth Steedman.

Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
