Sue E. Barker, 67, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on February 27, 1946 to Edwin and Betty (Alsbach) Pioterek and was a 1964 graduate of Waite High School. She attended Owens Community College and had worked for various employers as a clerk. She was a gifted artist painting with acrylics and watercolors. She also enjoyed crocheting, Polish cooking and baking especially cookies and pies.
Sue is survived by her husband, Roger Lee Barker, Sr.; son, Chief Petty Officer USN (Ret.) Edwin (Liv) Switzer; daughters, Sabrina (John) Vasko and Michelle (William Clark) Marquis; two stepchildren, Roger Lee Barker, Jr. and Candy (Robert) Peeples and grandchildren, Bryce, Kaeyla, Ashlyn, Graydon and Lochlan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Betty Pioterek.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 11, 2014, from 10-2 p.m. in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon where the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will remain private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
