Steven Mark Harrington

February 25, 1957 — November 25, 2023

Steven Mark Harrington of Northwood, aged 66, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Steve was born to George and Barbara (Luetz) Harrington in Toledo, Ohio on February 25, 1957. He was a 1976 graduate of Clay High School. Steve and Michelle met and fell in love while working at Value City. Michelle was in the shoe department so for the rest of his life he referred to her as his “Shoe Girl." Steve worked as a truck driver for many years until his retirement.

Steve’s hobbies included: gardening, watching OSU games, rock collecting, landscaping, and did we mention gardening? Year after year his gardening skills produced large amounts of vegetables and raspberries that he shared freely. He was a diehard Ohio State fan (Go bucks!) along with his best friend Jerry Kettinger; when we say “O-H” Steve will say “I-O!” from above. The upper peninsula of Michigan was Steve’s very favorite place. He spent many summers there with friends and family. He was a genuine guy, generous with his time, and a mentor to his children and grandchildren. Steve was adored and loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Michelle; children Derek (Linda) Harrington, Evan (Echo) Harrington, David Murphy, and Courtney (Todd) Cameron; grandchildren Andrew (Megan) Murphy, Seth Murphy, Alahna McCoy, Rylee Harrington, and Gavin Cameron; great-grandson and best buddy Zayne Loggins; parents George and Barbara Harrington; siblings Sherry (Chuck) Ulmer, Sheila (Tom) Dombrowski, and Scott (Joanne) Harrington; sisters-in-lawJan Berns, Pat (Michael) Hatzidakis, and Lisa Dantzer; and many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his nephew, Jason Dombrowski.

Steve’s ashes will be placed in a companion urn. After he is reunited with his wife Michelle in the urn, their ashes will be scattered together by their children. “Steve my forever love, until we meet again.” – Your Shoe Girl
