Steven J. Winhoven, Sr., 62, of Toledo passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2014 at Hospice of NW Ohio in Perrysburg after a long illness. He was born in Toledo on October 22, 1952 to Joseph and Donna Winhoven. Steve was an excellent marksman who served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp during Vietnam. After being honorably discharge, he moved to Florida.
He is survived by his sons, Stephen, Jr. and Sean; mother, Donna; siblings, Gary, Mark and Kim and his special companion, Michelle Bell, who was always there for him to help him on his long awaited journey home. Stephen would have been lost without her.
In his spare time, Steve enjoyed building model airplanes and playing pool. He will be dearly missed by his friends at the Blue Bird Café and long time friend, Tom Wymer. Though he faced many challenges, Steve always opened his home to others, giving of himself, gifts of food and even beautiful plants he grew in his home with love.
In honoring the family wishes there will be no visitation or services. Burial will remain private. Arrangements were entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon.
