Stephen “Steve” William Stoner, 48, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 20, 1966 to William and Margaret (Heintschel) Stoner. He worked for Cooper Standard Automotive for 10 years until retiring in 2006. Steve enjoyed cooking and was known for his grilling. He was an avid sports fan. He loved to watch and play: baseball, softball, golf, bowling, NASCAR and most other sports, but enjoyed sharing them with his twin sons most of all.
He is survived by his parents; sons, Rylen and Reid; sister, Jodi Stoner; nephew and godson, Tyler Baird, as well as many other family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse (Myrtle) Stoner and Leo (Pearl) Heintschel.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 2–5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will begin on Saturday in the funeral chapel at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Steve Stoner Memorial Fund to benefit his sons at any Huntington Bank location.
