Simon R. Lopez

Simon R. Lopez age 58 of Toledo passed away at home on April 2, 2022. Simon was born to Tomas and Charlotte (Esquibel) Lopez on May 6, 1963, in Toledo, Ohio. He attended Waite High School and worked as a union Boilermaker. Simon was an awesome uncle and had a good heart. He was the kind of person who would share everything he had with anyone. Simon enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews to the corner store to buy them all treats. He was really good at Dominos and his favorite color was blue. His family liked to tease him about how he liked to try to barbeque (always on the highest level) and how his favorite pants were sweatpants. He was a Raiders fan and he loved to go out fishing. Simon loved his daughter Asia and it is a comfort to his family that he is reunited with her and his mother.

Simon is survived by his grandchildren Allie Jude and Rayce Hoot; great-grandson Elliot Jude; siblings Lola (John Joe) Martinez, Tomas Lopez, Hovita (Al) Smith, Henry (Sandra) Lopez, Rita (Jim) Lopez, Gloria (Rory) Cook, James (Angelica) Lopez and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Asia Erard, parents, and siblings Raymond Esquibel, Mary Perry, Charles Lopez, and Tomasa Wetmore.

A graveside service will be held at Lake Township Cemetery on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel.
