Shirley A. Dean, 78, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born August 8, 1937 in Toledo to Clarence and Clara (Boudrie) Hoyman and was a loving wife to Leslie L. “Ike” Dean who preceded her in death. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and sewing and was a former member of Cooley Canal Yacht Club.
She is survived by her children, Sherry (James) Akines, Kathy Douglass and Lisa (James) Poelman; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren due this month. Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James Dean; daughter, Shelly Sanderson and siblings, Ethel Gates, Mae Keifer and Benjamin Thomas Hoyman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the Chapel of St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington Street in Genoa with the family to receive guests one hour prior. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Heartland Hospice or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Arrangements were entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel.
