Shirley E. Bake

Shirley E. Bake, 85, of Toledo, OH, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021. She was born June 26, 1936 in Toledo, OH to Virgil and Dorothy Bake. She graduated from St. Ursula High School and later, Mercy College, and went on to be an RN caring in the neonatal unit at Mercy Hospital for many years. Shirley enjoyed traveling, photography, fried chicken and chicken paprikash.

Shirley leaves behind her nieces and nephew, Susan Bake-Hanudel, Kelly (Mark) Kurzel, Teresa Bake-Hanudel  (David), and Jim (Lisa)  Bake; and many loving great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Bake; her brother, James F. Bake; her step-father, Alex Szabo; and her mother Dorothy Szabo.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Shirley will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Our Lady of Toledo Shrine.
