Our Beloved Mom - Sherry Lynne Lindahl

Sherry Lynne Lindahl, born on November 23, 1942, was the daughter of the late Clarence and Martha Burkhart, and the younger sister of Douglas Burkhart of Portage, OH.  She departed this earthly life on Monday, January 2, 2023, at the age of 80 years old.

Sherry was a devoted elementary school teacher and corrective reading specialist for more than 40 years. She taught in Mount Clemens, MI, and in Findlay, OH.  She was an outstanding teacher, having attained her Masters of Education degree (plus 15 hours) from The Bowling Green State University.

Sherry was known for her exceptional cooking skills, which included making “cheesy potatoes” and lasagna almost every holiday season. Her passion throughout her life was her pet dogs: an Old English sheepdog (Barney), a brindle Great Dane (Cozette), a chocolate lab (Noah), and a terrier mix (Gracie). One of her favorite past times was walking Noah, her beloved pet, on a park path in Port Clinton, Ohio.  Sherry loved to read, play piano, and visit her many friends in Bowling Green, Findlay, Texas, Florida, and Port Clinton.

She is survived by her two children - Burk Lindahl of Sarasota, FL, and Ryan Lindahl of Findlay, OH (wife Brianna, daughter Aubrey, and son Knox), by her fiancé, James Brandt of Northfield, OH, and by her lifelong friend, Connie Colella of Port St. Lucie, FL.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lindahl of Bowling Green, OH.

Sherry loved her family dearly. Her two boys were the light of her life and she, theirs.  She was an amazing mother, grandma, sister, aunt, colleague, and friend. She touched the lives of so many people.  She truly will be missed, and will never, ever, be forgotten.

Graveside committal services will be private, and Sherry will be laid to rest with her husband at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bowling Green, OH. Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH. In remembrance of Sherry, we kindly ask that all donations be directed to the Humane Society of America. https://www.humanesociety.org/
