Sharon J. Markley

Sharon J. Markley, age 80, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Bay Park Community Hospital with her daughter, granddaughters, niece and great nephew by her side.  She was born on March 11, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Julius and Lucille Balazs.  Sharon was a graduate of Waite High School and worked as a paraprofessional for Toledo Public Schools, retiring after 18 years.  Sharon loved spending her summers at Meinke Marina teaching her grandchildren how to drive the golf cart. She enjoyed being on Lake Erie in her boat “Sharon Won”. In her most recent years she and her husband enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables for her delicious Hungarian recipes.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Tina (Trevor) Walsh; grandchildren, Alyssa, Brittani, Harold Ray III (Trae), Leah, Mallory, Michelle, Missy, Mitchell Jr., Olivia, Taytum, Tiffany and Treven; 15 great-grandchildren; “Favorite”nephew, Mark (Kim) Balazs; and great nephew and nieces, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Markley Sr.; sons, Harold R. Markley, Jr. and Mitchell L. Markley, Sr.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH.
