Ruth L. Reed
Ruth L. Reed was born in Roseville, Ohio November 6th, 1932 the daughter of John and Beatrice (Harper) Short. Surviving are her sister, Mary Kansorka; children, Christopher (Valerie) Reed, Terri (Ed) Sturgill, Rodger Reed and Robin (Ed) Scharer; grandchildren, Lori (Ron) Boyer, Nikki Gyuras, Chad Sebring, Dana (Tricia) Reed, Brooke (Josh) Johnson, Bob (Rachel) Scharer, Sean Scharer and Brandon Reed; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Roger (Patricia) Reed; five nephews and multiple extended Harper family members near Muskingum, Ohio.
The majority of her life was spent in East Toledo. Ruth attended Hathaway and Navarre Elementary Schools and Waite High School. She was married to Robert Reed in June of 1950. Ruth was very involved at Navarre School where she was an Assistant Librarian and an active member of the Mother’s Club. She attended Clark Street Methodist Church and enjoyed being involved with the Bulgarian Macedonian Church cultural activities, bowling, round and line dancing, camping, ceramics, reading, vintage movies and card games. Ruth was also able to travel in recent years to Alaska, Nashville, Vegas and Florida.
Preceded her in death were her parents, John and Beatrice, husband, Robert and special brother-in-law, Bill.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 South Wynn Road Oregon, Ohio. Funeral services will take place at 12 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
