Ruth G. (Shuff) Kerekgyarto
Ruth G. Kerekgyarto, 92, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015. She was born on July 18, 1922 in Toledo to Harvey and Goldie Shuff. Ruth married Andrew Kerekgyarto Sr. and started their family having four children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Ruth was a member of V.F.W. #606 Ladies Auxiliary, a charter member of the WWII National Memorial and was involved with the U.S. Army Ordnance Department. She was very gifted in crocheting, sewing and knitting and a lifelong Detroit Tigers and Toledo Mud Hens fan. She will be dearly missed.
Ruth is survived by her children: Carol Epps, Andrew (Lorie) Kerekgyarto, Jr., William (Janice) Kerekgyarto and Joseph (Susan) Kerekgyarto; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Mary Ellen Simon, Richard (Patti) Shuff, John (Mary Lou) Shuff and William (Dorothy) Shuff. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Andrew Sr.; brothers, James, Robert and Frank Shuff and sisters, Marjorie Willard and Dorothy Peterson.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to any local V.F.W. Post.
