Ruth "Church Grandma" Gomez

Ruth O. Gomez, 92, of Toledo, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 9, 2021.  She was born on October 16, 1928 in Bexar County, Texas to Thomas and Micaela Ovalle.  Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, church grandma, and friend.  She was a member of Northwest Baptist Church where she made many friends.  Ruth was a very giving person and supported many missionaries over the years.  She enjoyed crocheting and cooking, no one ever went home hungry. She will be dearly missed.

Ruth is survived by her children, Maria Gonzalez, Andy (Barb) Gonzalez, Juan (Amy) Gonzalez, and Albert (Jennifer) Sanchez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rafael; children, Albert Sanchez, Alice Flores, Tomas Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, Elida Polomo, Linda Curry, and Elisa Gonzalez; grandchildren, Paula Vribes, Tomas Sanchez, Jr, and Daniel Sanchez; and great-grandsons, Jaime and Ancelia.

Visitation will take place at Northwest Baptist Church, 3906 Alexis Rd Toledo on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 9-12 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 12 p.m.  Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
