Ruth M. Diefenthaler

Ruth M. Diefenthaler, age 92, of Curtice, OH passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at home. She was born in Clay Center, OH on November 1, 1929 to George and Matilda (Von Ahrens) Chambers.  Ruth married the love of her life, Clarence, on November 28, 1947, and spent 70 very happy years together. She enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, and cooking for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ruth leaves behind her children, John Diefenthaler, and Jennifer Kitz; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Beth, Sharon, Sarah, Sam, Josh, Danny, Andrea, Kelsey; her 16 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Doris Shields; and many extended family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence; her children, James, and Susan (Jack) Shrewsbery; her granddaughter, Kerry; her grandson, Zachary; her parents; her siblings, Don Chambers, Glenn Chambers, Robert Chambers, and James Chambers; and her brother-in-law, Richard.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 21140 W. Toledo St., Williston, OH at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior in the church narthex. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband at Allen Township Cemetery, Williston, OH. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
