Ruth Lang Cope Woodworth, 76, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on June 29, 1940 to Charles and Isabel (Ottney) Lang and was a 1958 graduate of Clay High School. After receiving her certificate from Toledo School of Practical Nursing, Ruth worked as a LPN for many years. Upon retirement, she served for many years as the Director of Religious Education for Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St Thomas Aquinas Church where she sang in the choir and the folk group. Ruth was extremely creative and in her spare time, enjoyed making crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Woodworth; children, Charles (Korie) Cope, Kristine Cope, Cherie (Aaron) Cope-Crossley, Steven Cope, Timothy (Elizabeth) Cope and Thomas (Anne) Cope; stepchildren, Richard (Pam) Woodworth, Sherri (Warren) Kirwen and Paula (Bill) Gallagher; grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Cope, Benjamin (Amber) Cope, Amanda Cope, Douglas Cope, Hampton Cope, Korilyse Cope, Noah Crossley, Amber Bomyea, Kathryn Dobbs, Nate Dobbs, Jacob Cope, Caleb Cope and Owen Cope; great-grandchildren, Oliver , Hannah, Zachary and Jake; many step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren and sister, Rosemary Davis. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Kenneth Lang, Lucille Romstadt and Richard Lang.
A Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Thomas Church, 729 White Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605 where the family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will remain private. Memorial contributions may be made directly to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel.
