ROSE (MARCINEK) GARVIN
Rose Garvin, 84, of Toledo passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo on November 19, 1928 to Josef and Katarzina (Sosnowski) Marcinek and married Thomas Garvin on May 26, 1951. She was a loving wife and mother, affectionately known as Mama Rose to all the neighborhood kids who felt welcome any time in her home. She was a gifted artisan painting and crafting various projects along with her husband. She was an avid Detroit Tiger’s fan who enjoyed bowling, bunko and bingo and was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Rose is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Thomas (Dana) Garvin, Kathleen (Michael Kendrick) Ginter, Joseph Garvin and Jaymes Garvin; grandchildren, Melissa (Will) Carter, Richard Ginter and Rachael Garvin; great-granddaughter, Ada Rosemary Carter and sister, Helen Evanoff along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Friends and family may visit on Monday April 15, 2013 from 2-8p.m. at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
