ROSE A. “Rosebud” (SCHMIDT) FOSTER
Rose A. Foster, 87, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo on November 12, 1926 to Leo and Frieda (Sautter) Schmidt and during WWII she worked for Saves Electric. She was a loving wife to Jack W. Foster and after raising her children worked 3 years for AmeriCare Nursing. Rose was a member of the VFW Post 9816 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos and eating her husband’s home grown tomatoes.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sherry Bernheisel and Rebecca (Randall) Houghtalling; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchildren and sister, Elsie Sayen. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Carol Morelli and Jackie Downs and brothers, Billy and Frank Schmidt.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
