Ronald Lee Short, 77, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home. He was born in Toledo on October 17, 1938 to Alvin and Bertha (Schmidt) Short and was a 1957 graduate of Clay High School. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. Ron was a Boilermaker for 35 years with Local 85 and very active in various fraternal organizations. He was a 32nd degree Mason and 50 year member of the Paragon Lodge # 788 in Millbury, the Zenobia Shrine, Scottish Rite -Valley of Toledo, the Rossford F.O.E. Aerie 2822, Toledo Moose Lodge #713, the Bob Wurst Band Fan Club, the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, the American Motorcycle Association and Prospectors Association of America.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 48 years, Joan (Dodge) Short; daughter, Tammy (James) Wiltsie; son, Ronald (Jodie) Short; grandchildren, Raymond Short and Amanda Wiltsie; brothers, Terry (Helen) Short and Forest (Jeanine) Short and sisters, Carolyn Garabrandt and Mary Short. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sonny and Timothy Short and baby sister, Roxanne.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 after 3:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Masonic Service and full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
