Ronald Duane Schimmel Sr.

Ronald Duane Schimmel Sr., 71, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025 at home surrounded by family. He was born on March 30, 1953, to Kenneth and Kathleen (Chandler) Schimmel in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1971 graduate of Lake High School. Ronald would go on to meet and marry Carol Pierce in Millbury, Ohio on April 26, 1974.

Ron worked for Honda East for 47 years, during which time he received a certificate for top Goldwing mechanic on January 21, 2005 before retiring in 2018. After retirement, he still enjoyed working on his children's and friends’ bikes. Ron was an all-around fix anything person. He loved being with his children and grandchildren. Ron will be extremely missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his wife, Carol Schimmel; children Ronald (Danielle Gray) Schimmel Jr, Christopher (Rachel) Schimmel, and Shilo (Jon) Hooks; grandchildren Brayden, Aidan, Lillian, Liam, Jaxon, Maverick, and Shaylinn; sisters Norma Lutman and Kathy Veeley in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding Ron in death are his parents and brothers, Julius Schimmel, Kenneth Schimmel, Dennis Schimmel, and Dale Schimmel as well as his sister, Donna Sanders.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 2 – 4:00 p.m. A Funeral service will take place beginning at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the family or Hospice of Northwest Ohio .
