Rollin E. (Rollie) Morris Jr.

Rollin E. Morris Jr. age 83 of Northwood passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Bay Park Community Hospital. Rollie was born to Rollin Sr. and Gladys Morris on June 7, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio. He enjoyed helping his father run the family’s boat livery at Anchor Point Marina known for their “red boats”. He was a 1958 graduate of Clay High School. Rollie married the love of his life Ann (Hirzel) on June 8, 1962, at Memorial United Church of Christ. He served in the ROTC at the then Toledo University graduating in 1963 with Bachelor’s Degrees in Math and Science. Rollie was stationed as 1st Lt for the 5th Army HQ in Chicago, Ill. Upon returning to Toledo, he began working with his father-in-law at Hirzel Brothers Florist on East Broadway taking over the company in the 1970s and continuing the family floral business with his own sons. Rollie had been a member of the Toledo Swiss Men’s Society, Cooley Canal Yacht Club, and the Oregonians. He volunteered for many decades for the GAF and at St. Charles Hospital. Rollie loved to sail, fish, and hunt. In his later years, he took many trips traveling and camping with his family.

Rollie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Ann; sons David, Russell (Kellie), and Roger; grandchildren Amanda (Kyle Ford), Emily, and Glenn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
