Rodney Douglas Kimble

October 5, 1939 — January 23, 2021

Rodney Douglas Kimble age 81, of Walbridge, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Mercy St. Charles Hospital.

Rodney was born in Kentucky on October 5th, 1939, and graduated with the class of ’57. He went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps as a Field Radio Operator, receiving the Good Conduct Medal. After his time in the military, he spent nearly 60 years in the jewelry business from which he retired. He resided in Florida for 20 years where he enjoyed his time and met many close friends. He later moved back to Ohio to be closer to his family. Rodney enjoyed fishing, spending time with his loved ones, never missing a good breakfast, and the tradition of cooking the Christmas prime rib. Rodney was a devoted father and grandfather who will be remembered for his kind heart and great storytelling.

Rodney is survived by his loving daughters Patti (Jose “Leo”) Silva and Barb (Ally Sparaco) Yates; grandchildren Doug (Stephanie Connolly) McCoil, Chris (Lindsay) McCoil, Jessika Yates, Anthony (Krista) Yates, Sammi Silva, Jordan Silva, and Austin Yates; great-grandchildren Jackson McCoil, Brycen and Laney McCoil, Weston and Warren Yates; stepchildren Debbie (Scott) Roberts, Deanna Carpenter and Jayne (Chris) Sakelaris; and special friends Lenny Greco and Stan and Lillian Herron. He was preceded in death by his mother Fay and wife Judith.

Honoring Rodney’s wishes there will be no services. Memorial contributions in memory of Rodney are appreciated to any Veteran’s Organization.
