He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge in 1947, he met his wife, Barbara O’Neal and within 4 days of the first date they were married.  They raised four beautiful children, Yvonne, Deborah, Robin and Kyle.  On May 23rd 2017, they were lucky enough to celebrate their loving marriage of 70 years.

Rob retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 39 years of service.  Prior to his illness, Rob loved to garden, fish and spend winters in Florida.  He was often found giving a helping hand to family and friends, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.  Rob was a wonderful husband, father, papaw and great grandfather.  He will be dearly missed by all.

Cherishing his memory are his loving wife, Barbara; his dear children, Yvonne (John) Roecker of Northwood, OH., Deborah (John) Shultz of Oregon, OH, Robin (Robert) Lambright of Mears, MI and Dr. Kyle (Debra) Jackson of Centerville, OH; grandchildren, Todd, Tiffany, Jennifer, Heather, Sean, Brad, Beth, Brooke, Brandy, Jonathan, Holly, Corie, Larry, Joshua, Benjamin, Leon, Kassanda, Korrina, Cyrena, Andrea, Brittany and Jordan and many-many great-grandchildren.  Rob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and many friends.
