Roberta M. Groll

Roberta M. Groll, age 65, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021.  She was born on April 6, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to Captain John H. and Ruth D. (Derringer) Ruby, RN.  She was a 1974 graduate of Clay High School.  Roberta was a kind and caring person, who enjoyed taking care of people.  She worked as a nurse for many years.  Roberta was an ardent Green Bay Packers fan and loved spending time with her family.  Her son Rex was her life, all his friends called her "Momma Bear".  In her spare time, Roberta enjoyed walking her Irish Wolfhounds, and her dog, Annie.

Roberta is survived by her siblings, Christina C. (James) Johnson, John K. (Bonny) Ruby and Rex Q. (Jacqueline) Ruby; nieces and nephews, Eric Shiple, Lindsay (Christopher) Kurpes, Nicholas Shiple, Zachary Johnson, Amanda Downey, Jennifer (Artur) Sakarian, Kaylin (Alex) Russeau, Hallie, Colin, Katie and Jovin Ruby.  She is also survived by her best friend, Rennie.  A special thanks for all she has done for Roberta over the years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Rex Groll; and her sister, Terry A. Ruby.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 4-6:00 p.m. where a celebration of life service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
