Robert "Bob" Young

Robert Karl Young, 82, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at MercyHealth-St. Charles Hospital after complications of the Covid-19 virus.  He was born on September 12, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to Richard and Edna Young.  Bob was a 1956 graduate of Waite High School.  He worked as a paper handler starting out for the Toledo Times and NY Central and eventually retiring after 40 years from the Toledo Blade in 2003. Bob married his wife, Judy on May 2, 1959 and they started their family together.  In his spare time, he was often found fishing, hunting, gardening and watching Ohio State Football.  Bob had many interests, especially trains.  He was a member of the T.C.A. Train Club.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Judy Young; children, Marcia (Dave) Rossler, Bob (Cindy) Young, Tracy (Ron) Maher, Tom (Nancy) Young, and Sue (Kent) Felbinger; grandchildren, David Rossler, Katelyn (Josh) Behnke, Anna (Andy) Brandt, Andy Young, Joshua (Kim) Young, Ashley Young, Jordan (Andrea) Young, Ronnie Maher, Hayley (Tom) Crawford, Taylor Young, Ben Young, Jacob Emerson, Olivia Emerson, Olivia Felbinger, Quinn Felbinger; great-grandchildren, Carson, Jack, and Ella Behnke, Abby, Aaron, and one on the way Brandt, and Emma Young.  He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda Harrison and Jeanette Abbeglen.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Winhoven and son-in-law, Mike Emerson.

Private funeral mass and burial was held for family at St. Ignatius Church.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
