Robert N. Tefft, 94, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Toledo on September 14, 1920 to Floyd and Margaret (Smith) Tefft and served our country as a Merchant Marine in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was a journeyman boilermaker for Local 85 and then worked for 20 years with Toledo overseas Terminal where he was a longshoreman. He retired from Local 85 at the age of 72. He enjoyed boxing in his younger years, fishing and hunting.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert, Barry and Jeffrey Tefft; many grandchildren; brothers, Raymond, Dale and Floyd and sister, Anna Mae Purtee. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Oca Tefft; parents and siblings, Bill, Betty, Rosie, Donnie and Dick.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 after 1 p.m. with the Funeral Service to begin 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family wishes to thank Riaz N. Chaudary, MD and Dr. Ajeet Sharma, MD for their outstanding care shown to Bob.
