Robert Thomas "Bob" Tate

September 21, 1927 — October 1, 2016

Robert Thomas Tate, 89, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born September 21, 1927 to Robert T. and Marie (Scrimgeour) Tate. Bob was a 1945 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was employed with the City of Toledo for 30 years, ending his career as Chief Administrator of their Real Estate Department. Bob was a past National and Local President of the Knights of Equity Irish Catholic Fraternal Organization. He was an active member of Epiphany of the Lord Parish in many capacities, acting as organizer and chairman of the St. Thomas Aquinas Homecoming Festival, serving parish youth as: athletic director, basketball coach and president of the Youth Booster Club. Bob received the CYO Athletic Leadership Award. He was leader of Boy Scout Troop 57 for over 30 years receiving the Silver Beaver and St. George Awards for Scouting Service.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois Tate; children, Michael (Mary) Tate, Patricia (Jim) Bremer and Robert (Lori) Tate; grandchildren, Megan (Jake Kamlowsky) Tate, Andrea Bremer, Sarah Bremer and Patrick Tate; siblings, Mary Edgeworth and Michael (Margaret) Tate and sister-in-law, Roberta Tate. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph and John Tate; brother-in-law, James Edgeworth and sisters-in-law, Kate Lindeman and Lorraine Tate.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 2 - 8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. in Epiphany of the Lord Parish-St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where the family will greet guests after 9 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Epiphany of the Lord Parish or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
